How could PAT have helped me?

Hi all,

well, in just over a weeks time I will be back with PAT full time again and REALLY getting back with the PAT family.

For now, in between decorating, I am just looking at IG charts and although I can see the CONTENT I cannot see all of the lovely bits and pieces PAT gives us for the FORM.

So, today I looked at the EUR chart and saw yesterday’s low of around 1.2920. At 7am today I saw a nice move down that dipped just below this level (what looked like possible stop taking) and at 9.30am what I believe PAT may have given us a JB up (although I cannot see this). So my intitial thoughts were a long market after an accumulation of buys.

So I MAY have bought the market on the retrace at 10.30am. I was obviously wrong as the market continued on down.

So my question is, I believe I saw the CONTENT, couldn’t see the FORM but my CONTENT stance was wrong. How could PAT have helped me?

See you all soon.

Paul

Question on form.

Martin,

I am continuing to make modest progress and still enjoying PAT tremendously.  Just wanted to run my thought process by you to make sure I am sticking with content and not getting pulled into form.  Keep in mind that I NEVER deviate from the main cycle (acc, manip and pr).

1. Look at charts (15 and 60) around 3:30 and try to see if any direction grabs my attention.  Write my thoughts in the journal (I write whatever I think as the day goes by, some days more than others)
2. Check my phone (to see the charts from bed) starting around 7:00.  Check this about every hour until I see something that makes me get up and go to my computer.  Usually look for obvious stop taking.
3. If I do SEE something I feel good about, I typically wait a bit longer in the PR than most to enter.  I will wait for a jump bar, or a spike in volume to confirm direction, wait for a retrace, then enter to take 30 pips.  (I still get caught with my pants down, mainly when it is not a 90 pip run, as it did 24/9).  My lack of experience keeps me from getting in earlier because I tend to get caught in the manipulation more.  Can’t tell which side of the acc box they are doing the stop taking on.  It will come with time.

4. I am doing a much better job of not trading on days where it doesn’t look right to me.  My gut can tell if I am guessing or knowing.
5. Experimenting (demo acct) with the resistance bars and want to make sure the bars are indeed content and not form.

I appreciate any input you may have.  Thanks again for a great program and all of your efforts (and Nicki’s too)!

    Frustrating email service?

Do you need a truly FAST, trouble-free email program / service? Yes it costs a small yearly fee, but that's a tiny price to pay for a REAL supported email service. I have used them for years and that is why I wholeheartedly recommend them. Check them out - you will not be disappointed

    Brokers

I do NOT recommend any broker. Any website that promotes a broker involves a kickback being paid to the site owner in the form of commissions or advertising fees, fees that ultimately the trader pays for. To recommend a broker based on fees earned I consider to be unethical and a conflict of interest.
Do your own broker research and choose a broker that you feel happy with.

I do not receive any fees whatsoever from any broker and as far as I am aware no pages on my site promotes any broker.
